We were delighted to welcome all our new boys and girls this year. September has been a busy month for them settling in. They have been enjoying playing together and making new friends and have adapted very quickly to the classroom routine.

They have been busy colouring, matching and sorting activities using concrete materials in their maths lessons.
They have experienced a multitude of sensory learning experiences through the literacy activities. Fine Motor skills has been an area they’ve been working hard at to strengthen their hand muscles in preparation for handwriting in the coming months.
In Gaeilge, they’ve learned how to say their names and the parts of the body. ‘Lamh Lamh Eile’ has been a favourite song in the class this past month.
Having learned the safe cross code and how to stay safe on the road, Ms. Hassett decided to let the children put it into practise when they went to the local park on an Autumn nature. All children were very safe crossing the road and staying on the footpaths as they had learned.
They look forward to learning more about Autumn in Aistear across the month of October.

Ms.Hassett is delighted how all Junior Infants have settled really well into school life and cant wait for the exciting year ahead.

Have a look at the video below to see some of the activities they’ve been up to!
