Our Student Council did a remarkable job in marking World Children’s Day. This is a day when classes revisited UNICEF’s  Children’s Rights campaign. The student’s council under the direction of their chairperson, Carra Kennedy and vice chair, Jasmine O Connell held an assembly, organised by themselves.  This was particularly welcomed by Ms  Foley who normally does most of the talking!! It is hoped that the Students voice will be a feature of every assembly going forward.

Senior classes went into junior classes and carried out an agreed activity whilst Jessica and Katie helped out in the office for a while!

The student council decided to fundraise for 2 charities on the day and asked that each pupil wear a jersey of their choice and to bring in €2 To support their charities.  A wonderful €280 was raised and will be divided between Our Lady’s Hospital for Children and P.A.T.H who support the homeless in our capital city.

Ms Foley organised a cake to mark the occasion and performed a miracle in ensuring that our 200 pupils all got to sample it!! Many thanks to Doireann Scully for making it! It was delicious!
