St Joseph’s Primary School Templemore are All Ireland Volleyball Champions!
There were triumphant scenes in UL Sports Arena when St Joseph’s Primary School won the Girls All Ireland Volleyball Final on March 11th last.  The school has a tradition of participation in Volleyball Ireland 4×4 Primary School Championships, however the ultimate title eluded us until now. Behind every great team are class mates,  coaches and a community. We extend our gratitude to 5th & 6th Class girls who have been great supporters  and who challenged the girls as they worked hard to hone their skill. Our thanks are also extended to Templemore Badminton Club  who facilitated training sessions. Our thanks to two mighty teachers/coaches Mr Cillian Roche & Mr Michael Delaney who have coached all the girls.
Our team arrived home to St Joseph’s to a heroes welcome. Mr Joe Barry, Pipe Major of Thomas McDonagh’s Pipe Band and more importantly, Grandad to a now ‘All Ireland’ Champion, piped as the girls alighted from the bus. Parents,  staff & pupils cheered the girls making it a most joyous and memorable occasion.  Celebrations continued at a later school assembly where the team was celebrated along with their parents & family present. Here are just some of the memories!
